Me-Dian Credit Union
Glen Mazur is the CEO of Me-Dian Credit Union. Glen is a Chartered Accountant (CPA) and prior to joining Me-Dian, Glen held senior level positions in large public accounting firms and other financial services organizations. For 40 years, Me-Dian Credit Union has been proud to be a part of Manitoba’s First Nation, Metis, and Inuit Community. Under Glen's leadership, Me-Dian is undergoing both a physical and digital transformation. Through technology, Me-Dian is overcoming the challenging geography in Manitoba by providing digital alternatives for day to day banking and account opening services. Residing in a remote indigenous community in Manitoba, with no access to a physical branch, will no longer be a barrier to becoming a Me-Dian member - and enjoying the benefits of being a credit union member. Being a financial services provider that is focused on the indigenous community, Me-Dian is very aware of the economic hardships in the community, which unfortunately leads to a high level of homelessness compared to the national average. Glen and the Me-Dian team hope that participation in the CEO Sleepout will bring awareness to the issue of homelessness in Manitoba and also provide awareness of Me-Dian's relaunch on November 20, 2017 which will reaffirm its commitment to the indigenous community in Manitoba.
