Mohamed El Tassi

Sargent Blue Jeans
President & CEO

Mohamed El Tassi, President and CEO of Sargent Blue Jeans, was inspired by the work of the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ when he took part in the CEO Sleepout in 2013, along with his father, Albert El Tassi, President and CEO of Peerless Garments Inc. For both Mohamed and Albert, homelessness is an important issue and they would like to be part of the solution. Mohamed attributes his success to the strength and support of a generous community in Winnipeg. As a business owner, Mohamed believes strongly in the role of the corporate community in tacking the issue of homelessness head on, standing with not-for-profit organizations and social agencies and working together. He serves as a member of the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ’s Homelessness Committee and a board member of the Air Cadet League of Manitoba. Mohamed, his wife Lina and his kids Abdo, Ali, Ahmed, and Bassam, along with his father and his sisters Mariam, Aiche, and Omyia, regularly donate their time and resources to agencies like Siloam Mission and most recently to the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ’s Community Homeless Assistance Team.c
