*The Downtown Winnipeg BIZ apologizes for the letter that many of you may have received with an incorrect first name. Our database shifted one column and we didn't realize that many first and last names were impacted by the shift. We're so sorry and appreciate those of you who have let us know. We're fixing the database now and we appreciate your support of the CEO Sleepout.*
On behalf of the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ and End Homelessness Inc, we invite you to participate in the 6th Annual CEO Sleepout, which will take place on October 26, 2017.
Since 2011, nearly $800,000 has been raised and we hope to reach $1 million in fundraising this year through the CEO Sleepout.
This year, we are excited to announce that the CEO Sleepout will:
A. Be held in conjunction with the National Conference on Ending Homelessness from October 25-27, 2017. The Conference is projected to attract 1,000 delegates to our City from across the country and will arm policy makers, funders, reserachers, advocates and community leaders with the tools they need to end homelessness in their community.
B. Be held at the RBC Convention Centre where we will come together in the heart of downtown Winnipeg and;
C. Bring a formal partnership between both our organizations. We are committed to this partnership because we believe that End Homelessness Winnipeg is the voice of our city and will continue to lead the change that is needed in the community.
Please stay tuned as we hope you will continue your participation and fundraising efforts. For more information, contact: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Year after year, the CEO Sleepout raises awareness and funds to end homelessness, and in doing so, proves that Winnipeg is a caring community that works together to build a stronger city. It will take our entire community working together, including government, private sector, and non-profit organizations to help end homelessness. City Council has committed $150,000 per year to fund the United Way's Plan to End Homelessness, and as Mayor, and as a CEO Sleepout participant for 3 years, I am proud to be a part of a change for the better.
- Mayor Brian Bowman, City of Winnipeg
